Republican candidate for governor, Rob Astorino, spoke to reporters this morning, speaking of his desire to have a one-on-one debate with Governor Cuomo. Astorino lamented New York’s 2010 gubernatorial debate, which featured Client 9’s former madame, a former Black Panther Party member, and of course, this guy …
Astorino gave a nod to Jimmy McMillan saying that it’s the high taxes in New York State that are the problem.
Rob Astorino wants to go mano-a-mano with Andrew Cuomo, and no other minor-party candidates.
Astorino on Wednesday with reporters reiterated his call for debate with the incumbent Democratic governor, but insisted he should take him on directly.
The GOP candidate for governor is mindful of the 2010 debate, which included “Rent Is 2 Damn High” candidate Jimmy McMillan, “Manhattan madame” Kristin Davis and former Black Panther Charles Barron in addition to Cuomo and Republican nominee Carl Paladino.
“We know the rent’s too damn, OK? But we need to know why the taxes are too damn high and that’s the question I want him to answer,” Astorino said.
Astorino stated that the best format would include only candidates from the two main parties, eliminating any chance of replicating the odd-ball character debate that happened in 2010.
